Quotes

Peter Miasek, President of Transport Action Ontario, said: “There have been a number of studies identifying alternative funding tools to support transportation investments. We need to follow some of the bold actions and creative approaches that have been successful elsewhere.”

Resident leaders and elected officials from across the province have already confirmed their attendance. Harry Eaglesham, Vice President, Federation of Urban Neighbourhoods of Ontario, commented: “Our goal is to empower community leaders and elected officials to push for advancement of transportation infrastructure and new funding tools”

Mary Brawley, President, Markham Action Group for Improved Community said, "It doesn't matter if you are driving a car, sitting on a bus, biking or using your feet, moving about is difficult, expensive, stressful and bad for business. We also know that every day people are also concerned with finding and paying for new ways of connecting people to their places of employment, places of worship, shopping, schools, family and entertainment.”
